I knit this pair of patriotic Umbrella Socks (Ravelry link) during the Spring or early Summer of 2020. During the week between Christmas and New Years, I sat down and wove in all the ends. I do not know why it takes me so long to get my mind in the right space in order to complete a project so that it is finished and ready to be worn or gifted. Five or six months is way too long to have a project languishing just for the finishing.
As I was weaving in the ends on these socks, I took stock of how many projects were in the same state of almost completion. Let’s just start with this short list:
- There is a sweater waiting for underarm kitchnering, placket basting, and a button to be sewn on.
- An ADVENTure Gnome waiting for arms, legs, and a beard to be attached.
- At least three pair of socks in various stages of the knitting process.
- A baby blanket waiting for ends to be woven in and blocked. This one has to be finished by the first of April for a new grand-baby. It was only started three years ago intended for this baby’s older sister!
- Another baby blanket that only has about four inches of knitting to have it completed. This one is intended for a new grand-niece who is now about four months old. Although to be fair, I did complete three others of this same design that were delivered to other great-nieces and nephews so I got a little burnt-out on this project.
There are many more projects which I haven’t inventoried yet. Just know that they will eventually make an appearance here on the blog. I should hold myself accountable here so that I will finally get some projects completed.
I should dedicate this year to freeing all the project bags. This includes all the gallon Ziplock bags that I use as project bags also. Shall I try to keep count this year?
