I have been working on a myriad of projects. There are Christmas ornaments for gifts, two boomerang style shawls, three sweaters, and the small wedding shawl for Mom for her December wedding. The shawl needs to be completed first, but I am finding that other projects are capturing my attention a lot more than the shawl is.
I have completed the lace section of the shawl and now am onto the short rows which will add length to the shawl. I am slowly watching the skein of yarn get smaller and smaller. I sure hope I have enough of this skein to finish the project as there are no other skeins of this yarn in my stash. Plus, I’ve had this skein for about two years so I think it would be hard to find another somewhere else.
I purchased a new tablet and downloaded Knit Companion onto it. This new to me app has made keeping track of which row of the chart I am on so much easier than what I did before. Before I used highlighter tape placed below the row I was working on. I then needed to move the tape each row that was completed. I also like that Knit Companion has a built-in row counter. This has helped me keep track of which row I am on and now that I am finished with the lace chart it helps to know which of the 79 rows I am on. This gives an easy visual of how many more short rows I need to complete. Much easier than placing tally marks on the edge of the pattern.
I hope to have the shawl completed in the next two weeks so that I can get it mailed to Mom so she can see how she will style it on the big day. Hopefully, it will be an added memory for her for that day.
Make it a great knitting day!
