During these past two weeks I have been working on some WIPs and continued working on H’s sweater. First up is this Fisherman’s Rib Beanie which has probably been on the needles for at least three years. There was no project page in Ravelry, not an uncommon occurrence for me, so no exact start date. I do know that I picked up the Noro Kureyon from the destash table at knit night which hasn’t been held in person for two full years. I liked the pattern (Ravelry) by Churchmouse Yarns & Teas. I will make this pattern again but with a few modifications. I didn’t care for the length as my preference would be for more depth in the length.
The second WIP I worked on is a long-term project. I pulled out my Granny Stripes (Ravelry) blanket that has been on the hook for so long that I don’t remember when I started it. I am using leftover sock yarns for this blanket so it only gets worked on when I have completed a sock weight project. I then work two rows of each yarn into this project. I have planned on this being on our queen size bed when it is completed some day in the future.
The third WIP is my Hello From My Colors (Ravelry) by Jessie Maed Designs. I had fun picking colors and working on this during my trip to Idaho in December. When I got back from Idaho I had to put this down to finish Christmas knitting and haven’t gotten back to it since then. Monday morning I pulled this project out and worked three rows on it. I really want to see this project completed, so I am committing to work on it at least once a week. I only have two or three more rows to complete the yoke and then it is on to the body. This is a cropped sweater but I’m not really a fan of cropped sweaters. My plan is extend the length a few inches, but I will have to play with the charts to see what works for the length I would like. This was supposed to be finished for a KAL which I didn’t complete in time. I would like to have it finished so that I can wear it at least once this winter.
The last project I’ve been working on is the sweater requested by H. I did not like the size that the sweater was working out to when I did the body of the sweater with the heart on the sleeve. I cast on a second sweater and made these sleeves without the heart. This time the body looks like it will fit H a lot better. It is coming out 24-25″ around compared to the 29″ of the first sweater. I’m not sold 100% on the yoke pattern, but I am not sure I want to try to chart a different pattern for the yoke. I might get hung up on the yoke section. I have four inches of stockinette to knit before I really have to make a decision.
I have also spent some time on the Jelly Roll Blanket but thought I should put that one away until I get H’s sweater finished. I would like her to at least wear it once this winter season.
Now off to work on H’s sweater for a bit before heading to work.
Until next time, make it a great knitting day!
Good to see you posting on your WIPs. I have been doing extra early heavy spring cleaning, cleaning out all the totes in the closets in my bedroom and craft room and along the side of one of the walls in the craft room, and tossing and shredding old paid bills etc, (why did I keep all that stuff 🤣 and oh my gosh how did I have so much stuff?) and I have a WIP I need to be working on, but until I get the areas that look like an explosion took place, there will be no head space for the knitting or even my spinning project I need to finish. I’d like to say it will be done by this week end but the end of next week is more like it. I did empty about 10 totes that I didn’t fill back up with things I was keeping, so being more organized so I can find stuff to use! Who would have believed I could have so much in such a small place 😂. On the bright side, I have 10 totes to fill up with more yarn or spinning fiber 🤣🤣🤣.
